Intravenous sedation (conscious sedation) involves the administration of the drugs Versed and Fentanyl. The sedation process has a gentle onset and is intended to decrease your level of apprehension, decrease your level of alertness, and decrease the short-term memory of your surgical procedure. Combined with local anesthesia, it is a very effective and safe way to accomplish your surgery.
For Most tooth extractions we have demonstrated that IV Sedation can make your surgical experience as comfortable as possible by eliminating your anxiety and fear during the procedure. Most patients will fall asleep and generally do not remember anything while under IV Sedation.
Before sedation, the patient will need to restrict food and fluid intake. The Dentist will address the specifics before the scheduling of the procedure.
For most oral surgery procedures we have demonstrated that IV sedation is very safe and cost effective technique for making your surgical experience as comfortable as possible. We do need for you to understand Iv Sedation. We need the patient’s cooperation and compliance with pre and post restrictions and cautions.
Coverage by insurance is highly variable. Plans may cover IV Sedation if the patient is handicapped, has a medical problem, impacted teeth, and is allergic to local anesthetic or similar situations.
